In what we call the “normal era”, or “pre-pandemic” times, the most common thing I used to hear from my friends was their guilt around not being able to spend enough time with their families.
Everyone wished to have a little bit more time (every second counts!) with their loved ones. And what happened when their wish was granted (forcefully!)?
When the pandemic started and people were mandated to Work from Home, the most common compliant people had was:
I miss coming to office.
I don’t know how to deal with my husband/wife and kids all day at home
How ironical!
A few months into it, people learnt how to live with their families 😀 and started liked the fact that they could spend so much time with the family and kids.
Now that every other company and every other post on social media is about asking people about their opinions on going back to work: majority of the people would want to maintain the option of working from home with one or two days of working from worksite. Still they want to spend the substantial amount of work week working from home so that they can be available to family during the short breaks.
This pandemic came to us in most heinous form, took away some of our loved ones, changed our lives forever, but gave us a different perspective, a long-term one: it showed us what is the most important in our lives: Our families and loved ones!
This Christmas, may the blessings and love of your closest and the dearest ones be with you always.
Happy holidays!
